Why This Community Exists

Every week, more than 12,000 people leave American prisons and return to our neighborhoods.

What happens next affects all of us.

Communities are safer when men and women returning from incarceration are supported in becoming honorable, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens who contribute rather than cycle back into the system. This community exists to enhance public safety.

We are currently focused on one project. Below, is an explainer videos and summary.

Take time to review them, and if you have lived experience, professional insight, or a story aligned with this work, contact us.

Safer communities are built when practical solutions are shared.

Meet ’Em at the Gate

Meet ’em at the Gate is a community-driven project focused on the critical first hours and days after prison release.

We are gathering stories from churches, civic organizations, former prisoners, and everyday neighbors who meet prisoners at the gate with practical help as they reenter society.

These stories will help others understand what works and why early support matters.
